Guitarists must use proper guitar & bass exercises to add strength to their finger, hand, wrist, forearm & elbow. Dr. Terry Zachary explains how the finger muscles work when playing guitar and how guitarist must strengthen all fingers muscles in order to have maximum speed, strength, stamina & accuracy, as well as prevent injuries to the fingers, hand, wrist forearm & elbow such as tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, fatigue, cramping and RSI (repetitive stress injury).Dr. Zachary uses sEMG to show why guitarist should use ghs Handmaster Plus to strengthen all hand muscles for maximum support and maximum injury prevention. ghs Handmaster Plus is available at www.ghsstrings.com

Nov 16, 2008 - You appear to be a guitar player (hopefully not a songwriter, I've read more creative jokes!). We work with GHS Strings artists (brand partner in music). It is important for you to understand the importance of the hand muscle balance if you intend to play guitar. So many artists develop debilitating hand muscle imbalance (9 finger flexor muscles dominate 9 finger extensor muscles) which lead to carpal tunnel syndrome, elbow, finger, thumb imbalance, and many common problems.Best, doczac

Nov 24, 2008 - wouldnt lift weights give you the same results?

doczac Says:

Nov 24, 2008 - Dear volcanovape420:Thanks for your q. No, weights cannot do the same thing. If you saw the videos, you'll know 9 muscles close the hand & 9 muscles open the hand. Understand that weight training demands the hand to be closed (hold the weights) & is one of the main CAUSES of hand muscle imbalance. If you are a weight trainer, it is vital to train the 9 muscles that open the hand in order to maximize performance & prevent injury. Extensor muscles also support any grip action.Best, doczac
